Layout

Everything snaps to the rail

Draw the plate, run duct, drop DIN rail, and place gear straight onto it — every part lands aligned. Terminals number themselves as you go: X1 through X87 without touching the keyboard.

Wiring

Wire it, and the schedule falls out

Click two connection points and the conductor routes itself into the duct and along it — around corners, at the right depth, clear of the parts it passes. Every wire carries its number, designation, size and colour, and each end says how it is terminated.

  • Routed through the duct network, not drawn as straight lines
  • Cut lengths from the real route, plus your slack allowance
  • Ferrule, lug, spade or bare — set per end, counted per end
  • Colours named as well as shown, so a mono print still reads
  • DuraSleeve markers on the model at both ends, printed insert and all
  • Multi-core cables gland to gland, each core landed and scheduled
  • Busbar links across poles, ordered by part number like anything else

3D

Check the build before it's built

The same layout is a solid 3D model the whole time you're working. Backplate, duct and rail are modelled true to size, and components use the manufacturer's own geometry where you've imported it — so clashes and clearances show up on screen, not on the bench.

The take-off writes itself

Every part you place counts itself in, the instant it lands — with manufacturer and part number, grouped by category, and duct and rail totalled as cut lengths rather than as a count of pieces.

Materials

Paint it before you render it

Click a face and PanelPro Studio selects the whole region it belongs to — a housing, a lever, a terminal body — so a part takes a few clicks, not a few hundred. Colours are saved on the catalogue part, so every panel you build after that is already right.

Export

The model comes out organised, not as one lump

Export the panel and you get a real hierarchy: the enclosure at the top, each backplate under it, and every component as its own named object with its reference designator attached — so you can select, hide and re-material parts individually wherever it lands.

What beta means here

PanelPro Studio is in active development and you may hit rough edges. Features can change, and exports and drawings should be checked before they go to a workshop or a customer. Keep your own copies of work you cannot afford to redo — there is a Save a copy in the File menu, and every backplate can be exported to a file you keep.

There is a bug report button in the bottom-right corner of the app. It attaches a screenshot, and we read every one.
